128 knee arthroscopies were performed on 123 patients. There were 84 men and 39 women with an average age of 36 (range of 16 to 71 years). The patient made the final decision about the anaesthetic technique, although, in cases where meniscal repair, lysis of adhesions, or lateral release were anticipated, patients were counselled to have general or regional anaesthesia.92 patients were treated using local anaesthesia, 30 using general and 6 using regional anaesthesia.
