The mean value of HbA1c was 7.9% (+/- 1) in the CONV group and 7.8% (+/- 0.8) in the COMB group, (p=0.3).
The increment in BMI between the baseline and last follow-up assessment was 1.4 (+/- 1.2) kg/m2 in the CONV group and 1 (+/- 1) kg/m2 in the COMB group, (p=0.1).
Severe hypoglycaemic crisis episodes were 0.71 (+/- 0.53) per year in the CONV group and 0.03 (+/- 0.1) per year in the COMB group, (p=0.7).
Mild hypoglycaemic crisis episodes were 1.9 (+/- 2.4) per year in the CONV group and 0.7 (+/- 1.1) per year in the COMB group, (p<0.03).
The analysis suggested that the patient's age was significantly and negatively correlated to the number of mild hypoglycaemic crises.
