In patients with an ACS-positive diagnosis:
the total laboratory costs per patient were $462 in the control group, $303 in test group A and $351 in test group B;
the mean daily costs (including nursing, bed, and laboratory costs) per patient were $1,310 in the control group, $1,133 in test group A and $1,220 in test group B; and
the total costs per patient were $7,452 in the control group, $5,164 in test group A and $5,256 in test group B.
The cost-savings relative to the control group were 30.7% in test group A and 29.5% in test group B.
In patients with an ACS-negative diagnosis:
the total laboratory costs per patient were $189 in the control group, $158 in test group A and $141 in test group B;
the mean daily costs per patient were $1,000 in the control group, $1,009 in test group A and $1,123 in test group B; and
the total costs per patient were $2,019 in the control group, $1,635 in test group A and $1,415 in test group B.
The cost-savings relative to the control group were 19% in test group A and 29.9% in test group B.
