Authors' objectives
To assess whether formal rehabilitation reduces disability and handicap and improves quality of life for people who have suffered a stroke.
Authors' conclusions
Much more research is required to establish which aspects of stroke rehabilitation are most effective. Further good quality research is required to inform a variety of decisions on the use of specific rehabilitation services in different settings.
