Although there is a large quantity of public information about osteoporosis, the information is not well disseminated; it is not tailored to the different needs of particular population groups, and much of it is confusing, contradictory, and incomplete. The newly funded National Resource Center on Osteoporosis and Related Bone Disease should develop better ways of disseminating the available information and targeting information to the needs of particular groups. It should also develop ways of clarifying, augmenting, and correcting information produced by the mass media.
Other output or dissemination activity: The new National Resource Center is considering OTA's recommendations.
