Authors' objectives

The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of heparin therapy of recurrent spontaneous abortion related to antiphospholipid syndrome.

Authors' conclusions

In this group of patients, the risk of having a spontaneous abortion without therapy is approximately 90%. This risk can be reduced to 50% with the use of aspirin + heparin. Also, tests have been carried out with low-molecular-weight heparin, 5000 U/day instead of calcium heparin.
