This study aims to assess the effectiveness of BG-12 for moderate to severe psoriasis.

BG-12 (dimethyl fumarate) is an orally administered immunomodulator, from a class of products known as fumeric acid esters (FAEs). BG-12 is a second generation FAE product based on Fumaderm (containing mixed dimethyl fumarate and monoethylfumarate salts, and associated with adverse effects) which was licensed in 1994 in Germany for the treatment of psoriasis. There are currently no published trials of clinical effectiveness at this time.
