Authors' conclusions There was limited retrievable fair level of evidence on the safety and effectiveness (diagnostic accuracy) of Inexscreen as a screening test for ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage. The evidence showed that Inexscreen test has a sensitivity of 92.6% and a specificity of 83% when used in women who presented to the emergency gynaecology departments with vaginal bleeding and / or vaginal pain. However, when used in women who attended the gynaecology emergency department for any reason, the sensitivity and specificity of
Inexscreen as a screening test for ectopic and miscarriage was only 13% and 82% respectively. There was no
retrievable evidence on the cost-effectiveness of this technology.
