Equine therapy and other Equine-related therapies in developmental disorders, autism spectrum disorders and cerebral palsy. Buenos Aires: Institute for Clinical Effectiveness and Health Policy (IECS). Documentos de Evaluación de Tecnologías Sanitarias, Informe de Respuesta Rápida N° 443. 2015 Authors' conclusions The evidence found is scarce and of low methodological quality. As regards cerebral palsy patients, no clinically significant improvement was observed in the different scales commonly used to rate gross motor function disorders. As regards patients with autism spectrum disorder, studies are still required to compare this treatment with other standard of care therapies in order to adequately assess its benefit. Healthcare sponsors surveyed do not cover this technology because they consider it experimental.
