Citation Klappenbach R, Ciapponi A, Pichon-Riviere A, Augustovski F, García Martí S, Alcaraz A, Bardach A, López A, Rey-Ares L. Single-use negative pressure wound therapy for chronic and acute wounds. Buenos Aires: Institute for Clinical Effectiveness and Health Policy (IECS). Informe de Respuesta Rapida No. 477. 2016 Authors' conclusions The evidence on the use of single use negative pressure wound therapy in chronic or acute wounds is scarce and of low-quality. It suggests that in selected cases, its efficacy might be similar to that of conventional negative pressure therapy and might provide benefits associated to better equipment portability.
Clinical practice guidelines do not mention single use negative pressure wound therapy and the coverage policies consulted do not cover the use of this technology for chronic or acute wound care.
