Documentos de Evaluación de Tecnologías Sanitarias, Informe de Respuesta Rapida No 531. 2017 Authors' conclusions Evidence of moderate quality showed that in patients with a prostate volume of less than or equal to 80 mL, diode laser vaporization when compared with other surgical techniques (such as transurethral prostatic resection) and other types of laser (GreenLight laser), has similar efficacy when assessing improvement of the urinary symptoms, quality of life and maximum urinary flow during the first 12 months of follow-up, however, the results were lower to transurethral prostatic resection after 24 months, when it also presented a higher rate of surgical reintervention.
Evidence of very low quality does not allow drawing conclusions on the effectiveness and safety of diode laser vaporization in patients with prostates with a volume of more than 80 mL.
