Review question(s)
To gain more insight into the association of transportation noise (air, rail and road) with potential ischemic heart disease including myocardial infarction and angina pectoris.
Ischaemic Heart Disease (ICD 2010 (CODES 120-125)) is a condition in which atheroma (fatty deposits) builds up in the linings of the walls of the coronary arteries. This causes a narrow artery and reduced blood flow to the heart muscle. This process can occur in other arteries of the body.
Past and current research has provided evidence that their exists a cause-effect relationship between exposure to chronic transportation noise and this heart condition.
