Ottawa: Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH). 2012 Authors' conclusions Low-quality evidence showed that e-cigarette use can reduce the desire to smoke. Awareness of the product has increased among smokers, who use e-cigarettes for smoking reduction. Side effects of e-cigarette use in the included studies were minor, with the exception of one case of exogenous lipoid pneumonia associated with e-cigarette use.
