Citation Liufu V, Mundy L, Hiller JE. MRI-guided high intensity ultrasound for the non-invasive treatment of uterine fibroids. Adelaide: Adelaide Health Technology Assessment (AHTA). Prioritising Summary. Volume 21. 2008 Authors' conclusions A number of treatment options, including uterine conserving, are currently available for the treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids. MRgFUS may be attractive option for many women due to the non-invasive nature of the procedure, however, it appears that this technology is still in the "learning curve" phase of introduction, with the number of adverse events reported and a large proportion of women seeking treatment alternatives. Therefore it is recommended that this technology be monitored.
