To issue clinical practice recommendations regarding criteria for the indication of surgical treatment in PD and epilepsy based on the available scientific evidence.
Specific objectives
To determine the efficacy, safety and efficiency of deep brain stimulation (DBS) in the treatment of idiopathic PD in patients with long-lasting disease.
To determine the efficacy, safety and efficiency of different surgical techniques in the treatment of epilepsy refractory to drug therapy.
To determine the minimum number of interventions to be performed by each multidisciplinary team to ensure the efficiency of the creation of the team and the quality of the intervention.
To estimate the potential demand for interventions to be performed in Catalonia.
