Rapid Response - Summary of Abstracts. 2013 Authors' conclusions One randomized controlled trial and one non-randomized study regarding the clinical effectiveness of meperidine for the relief of shivering in adults with brain injury undergoing hypothermia protocol were identified. No literature regarding the clinical effectiveness of meperidine for the relief of bladder spasm in adult patients following urinary catheter removal was identified.
