[Systematic review of the effectiveness of the stereoscopic vision systems for minimally invasive surgery] Unidad de Evaluacion de Tecnologias Sanitarias (UETS). UETS 09/06. 2010 Authors' conclusions We have only found randomized clinical trials for those initially used systems that used glasses with filters to be able to have a stereoscopic vision.
The devices of stereoscopic vision on monitors do not allow the fastest accomplishment of the exercises of endoscopic simulation. For the devices mounted on the head has been certain difference in the time of accomplishment of the tests in favour of them although there were not statistically significant differences. The stereoscopic devices incorporated in equipment of computer assisted surgery allow to realise exercises of endoscopic simulation faster that when this stereoscopic vision is suppressed.
The majority of the published studies do not refer to the use of these devices in real situations but in exercises simulating laparoscopic surgery, reason why the accomplishment of more studies in real conditions would be interesting.
