Raltegravir para el tratamiento de la infección por el virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana. [Raltegravir for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus infection] Buenos Aires: Institute for Clinical Effectiveness and Health Policy (IECS). Informe de Respuesta Rapida No. 431. 2015 Authors' conclusions High-methodological quality evidence showed that raltegravir is efficacious for the treatment of adult patients infected with the immunodeficiency virus both in naive and previous treatment failures. Most clinical practice guidelines consider it a good option for children and for patients co-infected with hepatitis C and after exposure to potentially contagious sources. Some of them mention their costs as a limitation to its potential use. The recommendations and coverage policies surveyed consider its use, although the World Health Organization limits its use to the cases with prior treatment failure.
