In the skin stapler group 2 (10 %) patients had salivary fistula, 2 (10 %) patients had wound infection, and 1 (5 %) developed both infection and salivatory fistula. In the nylon suture closure group 2 patients (10 %) had wound infection, 1 patient (5 %) had salivary fistula. 16(80 %) patients in the first group had wound appearance rated as good, and 4 (20 %) as moderate.17 ( 85 %) patients in the control group had wound appearance rated as good and 3 (15 %) as moderate. The Fisher exact test (p=0.6945) showed no significant difference in complications between the two groups. Cosmetic result was statistically the same (Fisher's exact test, p=1.0000).
