days to reach WBC greater than 1x10?9/1, 21.7 (+/- 9.38) and 13.2 (+/- 4.83), (P=0.011);
days to reach absolute neutrophil count (ANC) greater than 0.5x10?9/1, 23.5 (+/- 10.26) and 15.8 (+/- 6.89), (P= 0.031);
days to reach platelets greater than 20x10?9/1, 20.9 (+/- 17.81) and 14.1 (+/- 16.48), (P=0.01);
days to reach platelets greater than 50x10?9/1, 29.2 (+/- 22.14) and 21.4 (+/- 14.05), (not significant);
duration of intravenous antibiotics use (days), 18.7 (+/- 5.25) and 14.1 (+/- 4.86), (not significant).
There were 4 cases of severe sepsis leading to the use of hematopoietic growth factors (HGF) in the ABMT group versus 1 case in the PBPC group.
