From the literature, SGA and FGA were assumed comparable in terms of efficacy, but different in the incidence of sedation.
The following baseline values were included:
rate of sedation with FGA, 17% (range: 10 - 25);
rate of sedation with SGA, 0% (range: 0);
prevalence of AR in the USA, 14%;
risk of motor vehicle accident if taking SGA or doing nothing in the AR population, 0.1141 (range: 0.1135 - 0.1148);
risk of motor vehicle accident if taking FGA, 0.134 (range: 0.125 - 0.145);
risk of non-motor vehicle injury if taking SGA or doing nothing in the AR population, 0.0668 (range: 0.0660 - 0.0676);
risk of non-motor vehicle injury if taking FGA, 0.078 (range: 0.070 - 0.088);
risk of death if taking SGA or nothing, 0.000166 (range: 0.000164 - 0.000169);
risk of death if taking FGA, 0.00019 (range: 0.00017 - 0.00022).
