Hemodialysis twice versus three times a week in patients with residual kidney function: quality of life, cardiovascular outcomes and mortality. Gothenburg: The Regional Health Technology Assessment Centre (HTA-centrum). HTA-rapport 2014:76. 2014 Authors' conclusions There is no data demonstrating that twice-weekly HD compromises HRQL or is associated with an increased risk of mortality or cardiovascular events in selected patients with residual kidney function, compared with thrice-weekly HD. The quality of evidence was very low for all studied outcomes (GRADE +000). Randomised controlled studies or observational studies of high quality are needed.
